Restaurants
Well, being that I am in Europe, enjoying the local food is an absolute must.  You would be mad to not get out and enjoy hundreds of years of culinary tradition.  The K-Town area has tons of little family run restaurants that specialize from local German, traditional Italian, and all the way to Tibetan cuisine.  If the name is underlined, I've linked it to their webpage.
Pfeffermuhle
Landstuhl
A fantastic german fare restaurant!  Wonderful location and incredibly friendly.  Menu is quite large and has a wonderful variety of German meals along with pizza.  Solid beer selection with .5l and 1 liter beers available in traditional German mugs (or krugs).  I was pleasantly surprised by the wine list which has wines from all over Germany and a few imports for the red lovers.  If you feel like dessert, this is your place.  Fantastic ice-cream desserts as well as traditional German desserts.  Additionally, feel tropical?... this place has TONS of great fruity and caribbean style drinks.  AWESOME restaurant that makes me want to stay put in Germany for years to come!

Not a bad place.  Decent at best and would probably only go back just to give it another chance.  The food is a variety of Italian, Mexican, German, and American.  When you have that many different cultural dishes you can only have the ultra "basics" of each cuisine.  Somehow they messed up my hefe-wiezen which threw off my whole meal.  If you like onion soup however, they have an awesome onion soup.  If that is the best thing I am raving about, you should know it's not a spectacular place.  Although, with all the awesome places around the area, it's very tough to compete.

An awesome eating experience altogether!  Has a superb Italian menu that is extremely authentic.  Atmosphere gives a definite Mediterranean feel that helps with the whole meal.  Wonderful specials everyday and the little breads they give as a starter are wonderful.  Everything on the menu is a possibility to order without worry of a bad meal.  The soup starters are all incredible and full of flavor.  No way they come from a can.  Recommended you try the pizza bruchetta.  You must stop by to believe the hype.

Awesome Sushi.  Some of the best you will get in area for sure.  Wonderfully reasonably priced which makes the place even better.  Looks really basic but the sushi is great.  They have chinese food as well along with your typical teriyaki chickens.  I never get anything else but the sushi.  Tons of flavor without the super fishy taste.  If you like sushi or to experiment, dont miss out on this place.  A fun start before a good night of drinking.

All I can say is that THANK goodness there is a restaurant around here with a great wine list.  The wine list here is very comprehensive from Australian through Spanish, with everything in-between.  They even had a 1996 Robert Mondavi Vineyard Zinfandel for 42.50euro a bottle!  I would say very rare for these parts and worth the cost if you miss your good Californian's.  The food was awesome and the smells of good food fill the air.  However, I had to dock a couple points because the menu is a little limited.  All choices are great but just not that much to choose from.  Definitely a wine bar style restaurant worth taking your time enjoying.  They even have a cigar lounge and wine tavern.  Once again, for those single malt lovers, they have a couple great whiskies here... sure they'll go hand in hand with the cigar lounge.  Cant wait to go back every time!

Cool little spot.  I usually go here for lunch on a nice day.  Good outdoor seating and friendly service.  Dinner is a little basic and that is why I only go here for lunches.  They always have a great lunch special menu and great beer on tap (vom fass).  Mostly a young crowd gathers here on the weekends or nights when its a "goal day".  Also enjoyable if you just want a social pint with some mates.  Standard but fun at times.

Delicious, decedant, superb Greek food!  Wonderful atmosphere inside and outside, especially on the terrace.  Hopefully you can get a seat outside during the summer and have some good food.  Menu is truly authentic Greek, and i should know, I lived there for 6 years.  The Zatziki is wonderful and you have to try the fired zucchini as a starter.  Good drink list serving decent beers and some Greek wines. Wonderful location if you want to hit up the bar scene after your meal.  Make sure you stop by here for a good change of pace from heavy German or the usual Italian.  I know its my favorite Greek restaurant!

Pretty good Italian food.  Menu is the same as you would see in any traditional Italian restaurant.  They have a good menu of mixed, fruity drinks and a nice dessert menu.  Big ice cream dishes, fudge, sauce, even bannana's splits; basically the works.  Sitting outside is the best part.  Its located in the plaza area so you get to people watch and you can see the Landstuhl castle from anywhere outside.  Very nice while you are eating.  Great place to go when it's a gorgeous evening.

Brauhaus Am Market

A true "brew-pub" in every sense of the word.  Beer is truly celebrated at this restaurant.  They brew their own beer; a Hell, a Dunkel, and of course, Hefe-Wiezen.  All are delicious.  Not only do the beers go up to 1,0 litre, BUT they have 3 and 5 litre "biertowers".  These very tall dispensers act as your (or your party's) own tap.  Very fun and enjoyable to have at your table.  Additionally, a massive 10-litre dispenser for those hardcore beer lovers.  I haven't dared to get it for myself yet, but I am sure I can get a few people to help me out.  The menu is full of good German food.  I enjoy the "Grillhaxe".  Its a large piece of pork still on the bone with dumplings.  Very good and not terribly filling.  Goes great with a dunkel beer. This is the sort of restaurant for me that makes it difficult to go anywhere else!

This is the place to get homecooked food in every sense of the word.  "Mamma" will sometimes greet you at the door and give you one of the warmest welcome's you will ever recieve at a restaurant.  Southern style cooking such as fried mac n' cheese (amazing), ribs, and fried catfish.  The sweet tea is incredibly addicting, I just can't get enough of that stuff.  It does get packed during dinner time so get there early.  Even though your in Germany, don't miss this good American restaurant.

Wonderful traditional German restaurant.  Has a very good menu that is well cooked and extremely delicious.  Beer is cold and as expected... good service to boot.  Usually I take vistitors here to give them that feel they are actually in Germany eating something and somewhere they would never in the states.  Good outside seating as well for those spring/summer nights.  Always a choice when you want a good meal!

REALLY good Italian food.  Gets very, very packed on the weekends to the point it may not be worth trying to see if a seat is available.  Although, once you get in your in for a gastro-feast!  You pretty much can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu and their seafood (while not extensive) is perfect.  The tables are a little packed in due to the small space, but you can manage.  Don't take a large group, you'll get seperated or crammed in.  Nothing to drive you away though!  Still, it's superbly decorated and make you feel at home in Italy.  Like most Italian around here, another hot spot thats at the top of the list!

Great Indian food!  A little something for everybody!  Very traditional Indian cuisine that has all of the Indian classics without any real surprises.  You can make anything you want really spicy and for the really bold I recommend asking for the "Indian HOT HOT".  Naan bread is particularly good and it's in close proximity to Ramstein gives it a few extra points.  Fulfills those Indian cravings perfectly!

Some how it has been months without me listing this fabulous place which is a severe oversight...

This is the German restaurant where you want to take your visiting friends and family to give them one HELL of a German meal!  The menu is extremely robust everything from fresh fish on the bone, wild game specialties, to vine leaf wrapped pork steaks.  There is no doubt that there is something for everyone on this menu, and even the simplest dish is amazing!  No matter how long you are here this is a MUST VISIT, or else you didn't visit the KMC!

Fantastic all around.  The atmostphere here bring this restaurant to a formidable score of 90.  I'm not sure if you can have a meal in a better place being this is a full castle.  The party room is worth looking at for your Christmas Party every year.  Menu specials rotate based on season and the restaurant website usually updates a link to the current specials (in English).  Has your traditional German schnitzels and some wild game dishes that I can't pass up.  Take your visiting friends and family here if you want to impress!

Super upscale restaurant that you really don't take the kids to.  Menu is small, but all dishes are very good and worth trying them all.  The salad base is most unconventional which adds to the rating of this fine, fine restaurant.  Wines are fantastic and list is enclusive of all the major regions.  Superb 'date-night' place that will leave a lasting impression of fine German food.

Another "date-night" spot that is very hip and trendy.  Atop the tallest building in downtown Kaiserslautern, this restuarant reminds you of big city eating.  You really can't find a better restaurant to hit up before a night at the bars and clubs of K-Town.  The wine list here is the biggest reason to go and while the waiter/waitresses have to go all the way down to the basement for the wine, don't let that discourage you from getting their finest!  Food is above average; but you go here for the view and access to bars along the street below.  Get on the outside during the summer for the best views.

*GUEST REVIEW #1* by Ash:  Looking for a delicious place to eat lunch?  Looking for a healthy meal? Looking for an amazing place to get away for the night while entertaining guests?  Anna's is the place!  At least once a week my girlfriends and I are rushing off to this restaurant to taste the DELICIOUS chicken and salmon salad.  After taking my parents here my mother stated that this the "best meal" she has ever had in Germany.  They provide homemade pita bread while you are reading through the German/English menu.  The host, owner, is very pleasant and willing to sit and chit-chat.  This has to be one of the most friendly atmospheres I have ever dined in.  I hope you can take a trip to this amazing restaurant!

Brennerei Mischler & Raudonat
a.k.a. "Schnapps House"
Albersbach (Reichenbach-Steegan)
This restaurant here is the number one "going away" place... without a doubt.  Our unit consitantly holds 5 - 8 hail/fairwell parties here and they never fail.  The buffet is quite amazing and has two choices for everything.  Two meats, two sides, two noodles, two salads... etc.  OH, dessert is incredible.  The restaurant is only open to parties and when you book, make sure you have the total head court or else you'll be paying for more people than actually attended.  Upon arrival, party goers can treat themselves to a tour of the distillery and get a tasting!  The owner will put our about 25 - 30 small shot glasses for all to taste.  Don't forget to have another tasting of your own after dinner: just €5.  Awesome!!!

Steadily a good restaurant over the years.  Since they've moved from downtown Ramstein, the atomsphere has dropped somewhat which has reduced the overall score.  The staff is beyond friendly and love to play with the kids at the table.  They may even get some icecream for good behavior.  The menu is expansive with mostly pasta dishes with a variety of sauces and extras.  No real wine list to speak of but as this is a family favorite, it's rewarded with a high score.  Solid Italian food that's worth a repeat.

Il Pirata
Niedermohr
A very tastefully decorated restaurant specializing in Italian food.  The pastas are especially good and while that is the 'norm' for Italian, they go above and beyond.  The mark of a good Italian restaurant is the availability of good olive oil on hand to add to your dish.  They have a ton.  Wine list is wonderful and I recommend the dessets on summer evenenings.  My family love the pizzas here and the kids always get a kick out of the baked over speghetti.  It's close proximity to Ramstein makes for a good hail/farwell spot.

*GUEST REVIEW #2* by Melissa K.:  We were introduced to Anna's and Niko a year and a half ago through my husband's coworkers and fell in love instantly. We felt so welcomed and taken care of as Niko and his lovely wife Anna (the chef) quickly learned our names, charmed our kids, and served us some of the yummiest Italian food we've ever had the pleasure of tasting! As another reviewer already stated, the chicken/salmon salad is to DIE for! But so is the spinach cannelloni, the cordon bleu, any of their pizzas and they have a liquor ice cream dessert that is amazing! They welcome children and always give them free ice cream after they've finished their meal. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is great! Go hungry, make sure to sit and chat, and prepare to find a treasure that will have you returning again and again! We will really miss this place when we leave!
